Shopping for food during the COVID-19 Pandemic: how did our habits change?
First of all there has been a record increase in food expenditure in supermarkets in Italy between 20 and 30% compared to the same period in 2019. The forced closure of bars, trattorias and restaurants has led consumers to supermarkets for food consumption: Italians mainly consume their meals at home, partially replaced by food delivery.
